S.M.A.S.H Bash Goes Live Friday Night Before Season 2

By S.M.A.S.H — June 18, 2026

Before Season 2 officially begins, S.M.A.S.H is cutting loose.

The S.M.A.S.H Bash is going live Friday night, bringing the league together for a full night of chaos, laughs, bad decisions, and community fun before the next season gets underway.

This is not a points race.

This is not about standings.

This is not about championships.

This is about giving the S.M.A.S.H community one night to throw pressure out the window, jump into something completely different, and enjoy the kind of race night that is built for memories more than trophies.

The S.M.A.S.H Bash will be live streamed by SimSational TV, giving the entire league a chance to watch the chaos unfold.

A Different Kind of Race Night

The S.M.A.S.H Bash is not designed to feel like a normal league event.

There are no points on the line.

There are no championship implications.

There is no season pressure.

Instead, the goal is simple: bring the league together before Season 2 and let everyone have some fun.

Drivers will take Mazda MX-5 Cup cars to Lanier National Speedway on dirt for a race that is expected to be unpredictable from the start. With damage turned off, yellow flags turned off, and the focus placed directly on fun, the Bash is built to deliver exactly what the name promises.

Chaos.

The kind that makes drivers laugh.

The kind that gives SimSational TV something wild to capture.

The kind that reminds everyone that even though S.M.A.S.H takes competition seriously, the league still knows how to enjoy the ride.

Event Details

The S.M.A.S.H Bash is scheduled for Friday, June 19.

The hosted session opens at 8:00 PM Eastern.

The race goes live at 9:00 PM Eastern.

The event will take place at Lanier National Speedway - Dirt, using Mazda MX-5 Cup cars with a fixed setup.

The race will be live streamed by SimSational TV.

This is an open community-style event for S.M.A.S.H members, with room for up to 60 drivers.

Members looking to enter the hosted session should check the official S.M.A.S.H Discord announcement for entry information. The password will only be available through the official Discord announcement channel.

Session Format

The night will include a 55-minute practice session before qualifying begins.

Qualifying will be two laps with a five-minute time limit.

The race itself will run for one hour.

The event will use a rolling start with double-file restarts. The discipline is Sports Car, with no iRating limit and a license range from Rookie 1.0 through Pro/WC 4.0.

The goal is to make this event accessible to the S.M.A.S.H community while still giving drivers enough structure to keep the night moving.

Chaos Settings

The S.M.A.S.H Bash is built for entertainment.

Damage will be off.

Yellow flags will be off.

Maximum incidents will be unlimited.

Lucky Dog will be off.

Wave Around will be off.

Fast repairs will be set to zero because damage will not be part of the equation.

Virtual mirror will be allowed, spectators will be open, and driving aids will be disallowed except for clutch assist.

In other words, the race is not trying to be polished.

It is trying to be fun.

Drivers should expect contact, mistakes, spins, slides, and the kind of moments that make a race like this worth watching.

Weather and Track Conditions

The race will use static weather with clear skies.

The temperature is expected to be 90 degrees, with no track moisture, no humidity, and a strong north wind.

Lanier National Speedway on dirt will already create enough uncertainty on its own. Add a full field of Mazda MX-5 Cup cars, no damage, no yellows, and a live broadcast, and the result should be exactly what S.M.A.S.H Bash was built to deliver.

A full night of controlled chaos.

More Than Just a Fun Race

Even though the S.M.A.S.H Bash is not a points event, it still matters.

It gives drivers a chance to race together without the stress of standings.

It gives newer members a chance to be part of the community before Season 2 begins.

It gives longtime members a chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy a different kind of race night.

And it gives the league a shared event that is more about bonding than winning.

That matters.

S.M.A.S.H is built around competition, but it is also built around the people who show up every week. Events like the Bash help strengthen that side of the league.
