Braxton DeWeese is starting to make a statement.

One week after winning the first-ever S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series race at South Boston Speedway, DeWeese backed it up with another victory at Langley Speedway.

The No. 15 did not start from the pole this time.

He did not lead every lap.

But when the 75-lap race was complete, the result was the same.

Braxton DeWeese was back in victory lane.

DeWeese led a race-high 59 laps, held off Jeffrey Stanton in the closing run, and scored his second straight S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series win to open the season.

DeWeese Wins Again

There are fast starts, and then there are championship-level starts.

Braxton DeWeese is building the second one.

After dominating the opening race at South Boston, DeWeese came into Langley Speedway with momentum. This time, he had to work from the third starting spot and race his way to the front.

He did exactly that.

DeWeese took control of the race, led 59 of the 75 laps, and kept the No. 15 out front when it mattered most. Langley is a tight short track where rhythm, tire control, and patience all matter. One mistake can cost track position. One bad corner can give the driver behind a chance.

DeWeese did not give much away.

The No. 15 controlled the majority of the race and finished the night with another clean, complete performance.

Two races.

Two wins.

DeWeese has set the early standard in the S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series.

Stanton Brings the Pressure

Jeffrey Stanton was not going to let DeWeese have an easy night.

Stanton put the No. 61 on the pole with a 16.2870-second qualifying lap and showed speed from the start. He led 16 laps and stayed within reach of DeWeese throughout the race.

Stanton also posted the fastest lap of the race with a 16.4210-second lap, proving once again that the No. 61 had race-winning pace.

At the finish, Stanton crossed the line second, just 0.1622 seconds behind DeWeese.

That is the kind of margin that shows how close the battle was at the front.

Stanton did not get the win, but he left Langley with the pole, fastest lap, 16 laps led, and another strong podium finish.

Langley Delivers Another Clean SLM Race

For the second straight week, the S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series put together a clean 75-lap event.

Langley Speedway produced zero cautions and zero caution laps.

That matters.

Short-track racing can get aggressive quickly. Langley does not give drivers much room to recover from mistakes, and traffic can become a major factor as the run goes on. But the field kept the race under control and let the battle play out under green.

No yellow flags.

No restarts to reset the field.

No caution laps to change the rhythm.

The race stayed green, and the drivers had to earn everything on pace, discipline, and execution.

Ellis Scores a Strong Third-Place Finish

Kasey Ellis brought the No. 35 home third after starting fourth.

Ellis completed all 75 laps and gave himself a solid podium finish in Round 2 of the Super Late Model season. On a night where DeWeese and Stanton controlled the front of the race, Ellis stayed clean, stayed in position, and finished as the final car on the podium.

That kind of run is exactly what drivers need early in a season.

The win may not have come his way, but Ellis left Langley with a strong result and valuable momentum moving forward.

O’Connor and Higgins Complete the Top Five

Cody O’Connor finished fourth in the No. 57 after starting second.

O’Connor showed speed early and posted one of the quicker laps of the race with a 16.4974-second best lap. He finished one lap down but kept himself inside the top five throughout the night.

Darren Higgins rounded out the top five in the No. 101.

Higgins started fifth and finished fifth, putting together a steady run and bringing home a top-five finish at one of the tighter short tracks on the schedule.

The top five at Langley showed a strong mix of speed, patience, and control.

DeWeese Sets the Early Standard

Two races into the S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series, Braxton DeWeese has made the message clear.

If someone wants to win in this series, they are going to have to go through the No. 15.

South Boston was domination from the pole.

Langley was a different kind of win.

This one required DeWeese to race forward, take control, manage pressure, and hold off one of the fastest drivers in the field. Stanton had the pole. Stanton had fastest lap. Stanton led laps.

But DeWeese had the trophy.

That is the difference right now.

DeWeese is not just showing speed. He is finishing the job.

Final Word

Braxton DeWeese is now two-for-two.

After making history at South Boston, DeWeese followed it up with another win at Langley Speedway. This one was not a flag-to-flag runaway, but it may have said even more.

He had to take the lead.

He had to manage pressure.

He had to beat a fast Jeffrey Stanton, who earned the pole, led laps, and posted the fastest lap of the race.

DeWeese still found a way.

Stanton finished second, Kasey Ellis completed the podium, while Cody O’Connor and Darren Higgins rounded out the top five.

Round 2 belonged to DeWeese.

The S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series now moves forward with the No. 15 still undefeated and the rest of the field chasing the early benchmark.
