S.M.A.S.H has several important competition updates heading into the new week, including league discipline, series placement decisions, Challenger Series information, website updates, hosted sessions, and official race postings for this week’s events at Homestead-Miami.
League Discipline Update
Following recent events, Michael Kish, driver of the #3 truck, has been suspended and removed from the league.
This decision was made based on unsportsmanlike conduct on the track as well as behavior
in the league Discord. S.M.A.S.H has made it clear from the beginning that competition standards apply both during race sessions and within the community itself, and this situation crossed that line.
League discipline is never something taken lightly, but maintaining the standard of the competition and the overall environment of the league comes first.
Ian Blanchard Moved to Challenger Series
In a separate competition decision, Ian Blanchard, driver of the #39 truck, has, after league review and discussion, been asked to step down to the Challenger Truck Series.
This decision reflects S.M.A.S.H’s continued effort to structure competition the right way and place drivers where they can best compete moving forward. As the Challenger Truck Series begins to take shape, it will serve as an important part of the league’s development path and competitive structure.
Warnings Issued After All-Star Weekend
In addition to those decisions, warnings were also issued to other drivers following the All-Star Race and related league activity.
While further disciplinary action is not being announced at this time, the league expects drivers to understand the standard moving forward. Special events, league races, and Discord conduct all carry the same expectation: compete hard, keep it clean, and represent the league the right way.
Midseason Review Underway
This week also marks the halfway point of the season for all three main series.
Because of that, results will be reviewed and points will be recalculated to make sure everything is correct moving forward. As the season tightens up, accuracy matters, and S.M.A.S.H is taking the time to make sure standings and race records are where they need to be heading into the second half.
Driver Profiles Beginning to Roll Out
Driver profiles are also starting to roll out on the website.
If you have not submitted yours yet, now is the time. Drivers should send in their information through the Discord channel 🏁┃driver-profile-submissions so profiles can continue to be built out and added to the site.
This is part of the larger push to keep strengthening the presentation of the league and give drivers a stronger presence across the S.M.A.S.H platform.
Challenger Series Information Rolling Out
On the competition side, more Challenger Series information will begin rolling out across both the website and the Discord.
As S.M.A.S.H continues building out the new series, drivers can expect more updates, details, and information to start appearing this week. The goal is to keep everything clear and organized as the Challenger side continues to take shape.
Hosted Sessions Coming Today
Drivers should also be watching for upcoming hosted sessions today.
Those sessions will give competitors another opportunity to get on track, prepare for the week ahead, and continue building reps as Homestead-Miami approaches.
Official Race Posts Coming for Homestead-Miami
Official race postings for this week’s league events at Homestead-Miami will also be going out soon.
That includes the latest event information and race-week updates as S.M.A.S.H gets set for another full week of competition.
Final Word
This week is about more than just getting ready to race.
It is also about maintaining the standard of the league, reviewing the first half of the season, continuing to build the Challenger Series the right way, and keeping drivers informed as Homestead-Miami week gets underway.
Discipline has been handled.
Competition structure is being adjusted where needed.
And S.M.A.S.H is moving forward.
