S.M.A.S.H iRacing: Race Day O’Reilly and Cup Series at North Wilkesboro Tonight

By S.M.A.S.H — April 18, 2026

It’s race day again at S.M.A.S.H iRacing.

Tonight, the spotlight shifts to North Wilkesboro Speedway as both the O’Reilly Series and the Cup Series take on one of the most respected short tracks on the schedule.

With Week 5 now underway and both series racing the same venue tonight, North Wilkesboro brings a different kind of challenge — one built on rhythm, discipline, and track position.

This is not a track where drivers can afford to waste laps.

North Wilkesboro Changes the Pace

Unlike the bigger, faster tracks earlier in the season, North Wilkesboro is all about control.

The surface demands patience. The corners reward drivers who know how to manage entry and throttle without overdriving the car. And over a 175-lap / 110-mile race, small mistakes become big problems.

Tonight’s races will come down to:

  • Consistency over long runs

  • Tire management

  • Clean passing in limited space

  • Staying disciplined when the field tightens up

This track does not hand out easy positions.

O’Reilly Series Opens the Night

The S.M.A.S.H O’Reilly Series gets things started tonight, and this track should produce a race where racecraft matters more than raw aggression.

North Wilkesboro forces drivers to stay under control and make smart decisions over time. Getting trapped in the wrong line, burning up tires, or pushing too hard early can ruin a strong run fast.

The drivers who stay composed and keep their car underneath them across a full run will be the ones with a shot at the finish.

Tonight’s O’Reilly Series schedule:

Practice — 6:00 PM

Qualifying — 6:55 PM

Race — 7:00 PM

Cup Series Closes the Night

The S.M.A.S.H Cup Series follows later tonight, and as the league’s premier division, expectations stay high.

At a place like North Wilkesboro, the Cup field will need to be sharp from the first lap. Track position matters, but so does knowing when to protect tires, when to attack, and when to stay patient.

This race will test:

  • Long-run pace

  • Discipline under pressure

  • The ability to stay smooth in traffic

For the drivers at the front of this field, tonight is another opportunity to separate themselves.

Tonight’s Cup Series schedule:

Practice — 8:30 PM

Qualifying — 9:25 PM

Race — 9:30 PM

Week 5 Details

Track: North Wilkesboro Speedway

Date: April 18, 2026

Distance: 175 Laps / 110 Miles

O’Reilly and Cup fields take over under the lights.

Final Word

North Wilkesboro is the kind of place that reminds drivers what short-track racing is supposed to be.

It is technical. It is physical. And it demands discipline every lap.

Tonight, both the O’Reilly and Cup fields will get their shot at proving who can manage the race, protect their equipment, and finish where it counts.

Race day is here.
