S.M.A.S.H iRacing Super Late Models Make History Sunday Night at South Boston

By S.M.A.S.H — June 7, 2026

A new chapter begins this Sunday night.

For the first time in league history, the S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series will take the green flag, bringing Sunday night asphalt short-track racing to the league.

The first race of the series will be SLM Round 1 at South Boston Speedway, and it will mark the official start of a brand-new division inside S.M.A.S.H.

SLM Round 1 Race Details

S.M.A.S.H Super Late Model Series

Round 1 — South Boston Speedway

Sunday, June 14, 2026

75 Laps

Practice: 7:30 PM ET

Qualifying: 8:25 PM ET

Race: 8:30 PM ET

South Boston is a strong place to open the series. It is a true short-track test where drivers will need to manage corner entry, throttle control, tire wear, traffic, and patience.

These cars are not trucks, O’Reilly cars, or Cup cars.

Super Late Models bring a different feel. They are lighter, quicker to react, and built for close racing. Drivers will have to be smooth, smart, and disciplined if they want to be there at the end.

Driver Signups Are Still Open

Driver signups for the Super Late Model Series are still open.

Any driver who wants to compete needs to submit a driver registration through the website.

This includes current S.M.A.S.H league members.

Even if a driver already races in Challenger, East Coast Trucks, O’Reilly, or Cup, they still need to submit a registration for the Super Late Model Series. Current drivers should use their current number and note in the comments that they are already a S.M.A.S.H member.

A New Sunday Night Test

The Super Late Model Series gives S.M.A.S.H drivers another place to race, compete, and improve.

This series will reward clean racecraft, patience, tire management, and respect. South Boston will not be about who can force the issue the fastest. It will be about who can manage the car, stay calm in traffic, and make smart moves over 75 laps.

The first race will also set the tone for what this division becomes.

The first pole winner, first lap leader, first hard battle, and first race winner will all become part of S.M.A.S.H history.
