S.M.A.S.H East Coast Truck Series: Braxton DeWeese Wins at Homestead-Miami

By S.M.A.S.H — May 1, 2026

The S.M.A.S.H East Coast Truck Series returned to points racing Friday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and the main event delivered exactly what the premier truck division is supposed to bring.

Speed. Pressure. Long-run discipline. A field full of drivers trying to make the second half of the season count.

After 100 laps under the lights, Braxton DeWeese came out on top, grabbing the win and putting together the kind of statement run that matters this deep into the season.

The race featured 20 drivers, a 2035 strength of field, 100 laps completed, one caution for three laps, and three lead changes. It was a full-distance points race that forced drivers to manage tires, track position, and patience all the way to the end.

Braxton DeWeese Gets It Done at Homestead

Braxton DeWeese parked it in victory lane at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

DeWeese started second, led 34 laps, and controlled the race when it mattered most. Homestead is not a place where a driver can just hang on and hope. The track rewards rhythm, tire management, and knowing when to push.

DeWeese did all of that.

With the East Coast Truck Series back from the All-Star break, this win sends a clear message: the championship fight is not slowing down, and nobody at the front is getting comfortable.

Canova and Springer Complete the Podium

Dillon Canova finished second after starting from the pole and posting the fastest lap of the race. Canova showed race-winning speed all night, but DeWeese had enough to hold the top spot when the checkered flag fell.

Mike Springer came home third, giving himself a strong podium finish and another solid points night in the East Coast Truck Series.

At this point in the season, podiums matter. Clean finishes matter. Every spot matters.

The drivers stacking results now are the ones putting themselves in position when the championship picture starts getting tighter.

Homestead Tested the Field

Homestead-Miami Speedway is not just about raw speed.

It is about control.

Drivers had to manage the long run, keep the truck under them, and avoid burning the tires off too early. The wall is always close, the exits matter, and a small mistake can turn into a long night fast.

With only one caution, most of this race came down to pace, execution, and who could keep their truck alive across the full 100 laps.

That is exactly the kind of race the East Coast Truck Series needs at this point in the season.

The All-Star break is over. Points racing is back. The championship push is officially moving again.

The Championship Fight Moves Forward

The East Coast Truck Series is the premier truck division inside S.M.A.S.H, and races like this are where the season starts to take shape.

Some drivers left Homestead with momentum. Some left needing to regroup. That is racing.

The important part is that the championship road is getting shorter every week. There is less room for throwaway nights, less room for mistakes, and less time to recover when things go wrong.

DeWeese took the win, Canova showed speed, Springer stayed in the fight, and the rest of the field now has another week of points to sort through.

That is how a season tightens up.

Final Word

The East Coast Truck Series came back from the All-Star break and got straight back to business.

Braxton DeWeese wins at Homestead-Miami. Dillon Canova and Mike Springer finish on the podium. The field completed 100 laps, and the championship race keeps moving forward.

The lights were on. The pressure was there. The premier truck series showed up.

Now the road to the championship gets a little more serious.
